Medical Mobile Unit (medical/psychiatric)
The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) is part of the Valley Homeless Healthcare Program of the Santa Clara County Health and Hospital System. Clients can access the Ambulatory Care MMU at the Reentry Resource Centers in San Jose and Gilroy. The MMU provides basic medical and psychiatric services, as well as prescriptions and provides some medication on site as well as medication assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use. MMU staff and community health workers assist clients in securing appointments for any health-based services the MMU is not equipped to provide. The MMU collaborates with the Office of the Sheriff, Custody Health, and Probation to facilitate transition planning.
