Mission
The Mission of the Santa Clara County Office of Diversion and Reentry Services Community Advisory Board is to provide policy recommendations and solutions to underserved and disenfranchised communities. We are committed to fostering justice, equity, and empathy for individuals within the justice-involved community. Our ultimate goal is to foster safer, healthier, and more diverse community resources and services in our community.
Vision
● Foster an inclusive and equitable environment where the unique perspectives, opinions, and experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds are valued, respected, and supported.
● Regularly meet with executive staff to inform policy development and improve the quality and types of services provided while promoting a more just and equitable society.
● Collaborate effectively as a team with fellow board members, to provide best practice services to individuals with barriers in society, to help them achieve success in their future.
About the CAB
The CAB is comprised of current and former Reentry Resource Center clients who provide the Center feedback regarding their experiences with the Center, its services, as well as services provided by partner organizations in the County. This Advisory Board advises RRC staff, County department directors and ultimately the Public Safety and Justice Commission, which includes County Board Supervisors, representatives from the Department of Correction, County Superior Court, Probation Department, Public Health Department, City of San Jose Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force, Office of the Sheriff, faith community, Office of the Public Defender, Office of the District Attorney, Santa Clara Police Department, Social Services Agency, Behavioral Health Services Department, Employment Services Agency, Alcohol and Drug Services, County Office of Education, Silicon Valley FACES-Victim Witness Program, Office of Pre-Trial Services and community-based organizations.
