Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise
REDF
The Office of Diversion and Reentry Services has contracted with REDF to assist one community-based organization in creating and launching a social enterprise as well as providing support, connections, and resources to other social enterprises which either currently employ and assist justice involved citizens or are looking to employ justice-involved clients. REDF specializes in employment social enterprises, which are businesses that provide jobs, training, and support to people breaking through barriers to employment. REDF partners with these entrepreneurs by providing capital, capacity, and community support to increase their impact and success.
ESO Ventures
The Office of Diversion and Reentry Services has contracted with ESO to operate a small business incubator for assessment, selection, and training for justice-involved clients to launch or expand their own businesses. ESO provides entrepreneurs with access to business development training, mentorship, financial resources, and support services such as bookkeeping, marketing, and legal assistance. The program offers participants the opportunity to connect with successful business owners and industry experts who can share their insights and experiences.
