I was born and raised in San Jose and now reside in Gilroy. I come from a Mexican culture where we always like to help others. I have been blessed to be a part of the Breakout Prison Outreach- Good Samaritan Project which provides faith-based services through the Reentry Resource Center. I am currently the facilitator to the South County LEAB and enjoy working closely with the south county community. I was a part of the Reentry 5K Run Committee for the last two years and hope to continue in the future. I have been a part of the chapel visits at Elmwood Correctional Facility providing spiritual support. This has increased collaboration by connecting our staff with the community once individuals are released. A smooth transition from jail to the Reentry Resource Center has been very helpful to clients as they are referred to our programs. I case manage individuals who have been released from incarceration within our Santa Clara County community. Based on my experience with being a part of the “evil world”, I was able to be saved and pursue a positive lifestyle through Christ our savior. I have a family of three, have been married for 25 years and have three grandchildren. Life has taught me to help others in need, my passion has always been in supporting families when needed. God placed me where I am today to give others a second chance just like I was blessed with that opportunity. My experiences have molded me to be the person I am today and I would love to continue to do so with the support of all my colleagues, family and community.
