In 2013, the Public Defender Office (PDO) in collaboration with the Office of Diversion and Reentry Services, launched the Reentry Expungement Program (REP) to provide record clearance services for any financially eligible client, regardless of the date of conviction or past representation.

The program has progressed to a granted relief rate of over 98%.

The REP routinely requests that felonies be reduced to misdemeanors in conjunction with record clearance and successfully eliminates outstanding fines and fees. The REP’s goal is to cultivate a client’s ability to thrive in our community by breaking the shackles of prior convictions.
